Approval (the state's). The New York Department of State reviews online filings quickly, often within minutes to a day. When it approves, your LLC exists and we email you the filing receipt and your filed Articles.

State fees are paid to the state at cost and shown before you pay. A certified copy instead of the plain copy makes it $309.
What we need from you
- The LLC name. It must end in LLC, L.L.C. or Limited Liability Company. We check it against the state's records before filing.
- The county where the LLC's office will be. It matters for publication (below).
- An address for legal mail. The Secretary of State forwards legal papers there. It becomes public, so many owners use a business address.
- The owners (members) and whether the LLC is run by its members or by managers.
- The owner's SSN or ITIN if you want us to get the EIN. It is sent encrypted, never by email or text.
After approval: what New York still requires
Publication, within 120 days. Every New York LLC must publish a notice in two newspapers chosen by the county clerk, once a week for six weeks, then file a Certificate of Publication. We do it for $649 in every county, newspapers and the $50 state fee included. How publication works.
