FAQ

Choosing a state

Which state should I form my LLC in?

Most small businesses form in the state where they actually operate. Forming elsewhere can mean registering again as a foreign LLC in your home state and paying two sets of fees. We file the paperwork; an accountant or attorney can advise on which state fits you.

Is the price the same in every state?

Our service fee is $99 everywhere. The state filing fee is set by each state, from $35 to $520, and we pass it through at cost with no markup. Your state's page shows the exact fee and your total.

How fast will my LLC be approved?

We usually file within 1 business hour of a complete order during business hours. Approval is then up to the state: some approve online filings in minutes, others take weeks. Each state page shows the typical time and whether the state sells faster review.
